A sense of safety and enjoyment from a ride

The Škoda Superb excels thanks to its wide range of active and passive safety elements, including some new features that guarantee maximum protection of the passengers’ life and health.

The fact that the Superb is really top of the range in safety terms is confirmed by a test performed by the independent organization Euro-NCAP, in which it obtained five stars, i.e. the highest possible rating.
Airbags are an integral part of a car’s safety features today. The Škoda Superb can offer up to nine airbags. In addition to the head airbags, driver’s and front passenger’s airbags and side airbags in the front, the Superb has a knee airbag for the driver and side airbags in the back.

Compliance with the “see and be seen” rule is assisted by Bi-xenon headlights with AFS functionality, integrated telescopic washers, a rain sensor and front fog lights with Corner function. Side indicator lights are integrated into the external mirrors for better visibility. Warning lights are also automatically activated when braking sharply. Drivers behind you will therefore have more time to react to a dangerous situation.
In addition to electromechanical power steering with variable effect and disc brakes on all wheels, a range of electronic system ensure excellent stability and control of the Superb.

Standard features include the ESP stabilising system with an EDL electronic differential lock and an HBA hydraulic brake assistant. Obviously, these systems also include ABS, MSR and ASR.

For your safety and a more comfortable drive, you can also order a hill hold control, with which you can easily start without using the handbrake.

Bi-Xenon headlamps

Bi-xenon headlights with an Adaptive Frontlight System (AFS) automatically adapt the lighting to various situations, rotate into turns, alter the illuminated area depending on the speed and actual driving conditions, and offer various lighting regimes (city, intercity, motorway, rain).

Knee airbag

The driver’s knee airbag is a new safety feature and is appearing in Škoda cars for the first time. It is located under the steering column and reduces the risk of injury to the lower limbs during a head-on collision. You can recognise cars fitted with this airbag by the sign on the side of the dashboard.

Parking Assistant

The parking assistant makes parking in a line of parked vehicles easier. All you have to do is push a button and the parking assistant itself assesses whether the distance between the cars is big enough to park in. Then just put the car in reverse, gently accelerate or brake in accordance with the instructions of the Maxi DOT display and the Superb will take care of parking.

Multifunctional steering wheel

In its top version, the three- or four-spoke leather multifunctional steering wheel offers you comfortable control over your radio and mobile telephone.  The three-spoke multifunctional steering wheel, which cooperates exclusively with a DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission, also offers comfortable shifting between gears on the steering wheel.
